I Wrote A Book!

Today is a terrific day. “Elephant Tales – mostly true stories about entrepreneurs” was released on Amazon in softcover and will be available in Kindle format in a day or two.

Writing this book has been a dream of mine for years.  I’ve always been a bit of a storyteller, using that format to illustrate a point to the executives I’ve coached and teams I’ve worked with.  Now it is available in print form.

What I’m most excited about is not being an author, but putting these illustrations into a form that can be used by entrepreneurs and their teams who I have never met.  Hopefully by providing some introspection, and maybe a couple of pointers in how the entrepreneurs and their teams can understand each other better, will help them to value and work together better.  And most important, be happier with each other.

I love elephants.

Like a Tiffany diamond, some gems come in small boxes. “Elephant Tales” comes in a small package, only 32 pages. Reading this is a gift you want to give yourself! Using simple analogies, with elephants and ants as protagonists and an ocassional monkey thrown in, Keith Okano, directs the reader to reflect on common workplace situations and left me wondering what part I have played in given situations – and to look ashamedly amused when I saw myself as sometimes the elephant and sometimes the ant. The book is directed to entrepreneurs but its profound simplicity and universal appeal makes me think even children would learn from it. From the boardroom to the lunch room to the kindergarten sharing circle, this book is fodder for growth. I loved it!
